The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020. It will be the 59th quadrennial presidential election.

In September and October, Muc Vu Van But: www.mucvuvanbut.net is scheduled to publish in "Vietnam News / World News" subscription, a series of three articles in Vietnamese on the Democratic Party platform and the Republican Party platform with brief differences to make it easy for voters to compare the two main political parties that many voters only know somewhat or misunderstand.
There are also legends created by each party to earn points. One party accuses the other party of being demagogic when it offers fish to poor, black people and illegal immigrants in order to get their votes and get personal and factional profit and thus, makes them dependent on the party rather than to give them a fishing rod so that they can become independent. The other party denounces the opposition party only to serve the rich to maintain the capitalist regime.
When a party has failed to produce competent leaders to run the nation's machinery, target the interests of the people and the nation and influence the world; when a party has lost power, interest and influence, then small-minded and incompetent party members and factions, for fear of being possibly investigated, prosecuted and convicted of fraudulent bribes of millions of dollars, or for reason of having lost opportunity to make money unjustly, or out of jealousy for not being able to do things that benefit the country and the people like rivals do, they would find ways to pick opponents to pieces, put labels on them and fabricate paranoia to smear the opposition party leader. They also would collude with foreign powers to use despicable tricks to incite rogue members of the population to cause turmoil in society, to oppose the government and to do illegal, destructive things, plundering property, causing social disorder. That was what happened in the summer of 2020.
Recent problems of the liberal leftist press / media:
The press / media are means of communicating truthfully and guiding public opinion or influencing the public's thoughts. However, journalist Vu Bang said "Journalists tell lies for money." The press / media may be required to spread politically, or bribed for partisan coverage or foreign power. Because of the bribery, recently left-wing publishers, editors and writers cheaply sell their conscience by reporting biased, one-sided news, even fabricating fake news, or suppressing news that is unfavorable to party and faction.
Recently, when reading or listening to news on social or political issues, most Vietnamese-American commentators have labeled the liberal leftist press / media as thổ tả. Leftist means thiên tả in Vietnamese; thiên tả is derivatively read as thổ tả in Vietnamese; literal meaning of thổ tả is vomiting (reading the liberal leftist news makes people want to vomit); its figurative meaning of thổ tả is fabricated, fake with intention of tricking public opinion. The problem of unreliability and fabrication of news report as such about the Vietnam War by the liberal leftist press / media also started since then.

Vào Tháng 9 và 10, Mục Vụ Văn Bút cho đăng trong tiểu mục “Tin Việt Nam / Tin Thế giới”: một loạt ba bài viết về cương lĩnh của Đảng Dân Chủ và cương lĩnh của Đảng Cộng Hoà với những khác biệt vắn gọn cho dễ so sánh giữa hai Đảng Phái chính mà nhiều cử tri chỉ biết sơ loa hoặc ngộ nhận.
Lại còn có những huyền thoại do mỗi đảng tạo ra để lấy điểm. Đảng này tố cáo đảng kia là mị dân khi cho người nghèo, người da mầu, người nhập cư bất hợp pháp “ăn cá” nhằm để lấy phiếu và trục lợi cá nhân và phe phái, và như vậy, khiến họ tuỳ thuộc vào đảng phái, thay vì cho họ “cần câu cá” để họ tự lập. Đảng kia tố cáo lại đảng đối lập là chỉ nhằm phục vụ người giầu để duy trì chế độ tư bản.
Khi một đảng phái không sản xuất được những nhà lãnh đạo tài giỏi để điều hành guồng máy quốc gia và gây ảnh hưởng quốc tế và nhắm đến ích quốc lợi dân; khi một đảng phái mất quyền hành, lợi lộc và ảnh hưởng, thì những quan chức tiểu nhân bất tài trong đảng và phe phái vì sợ có thể bị điều tra, truy tố và kết tội về những vụ hối lộ bạc triêu, hoặc mất cơ hội làm giầu cách bất chính hoặc vì ghen tị, không làm được những việc lợi ích cho đất nước và cho người dân như đối thủ làm, nên tìm cách thế để bới lông tìm vết, chụp mũ đối thủ và bịa đặt những hoang tưởng để bôi nhọ lãnh đạo đảng đối lập. Những thành phần này còn kết cấu với những thế lục ngoại bang, dùng những thủ đoạn đê hèn để xúi giục và kích động những thành phần bất hảo trong dân chúng làm những việc phi pháp, phá phách, cướp bóc, gây rối loạn trong xã hội. Đó là những điều đã xẩy ra như vào mùa hè 2020.
Vấn đề báo chí truyền thông thiên tả phóng túng gần đây.
Báo chí / Truyền thông là phương tiện thông đạt tin tức trung thực và hướng dẫn dư luận hoặc gây ảnh hưởng tư tưởng đến quần chúng. Tuy nhiên, nhà báo Vũ Bằng lại nói “Làm báo nói láo ăn tiền”. Báo chí cũng có thể phải loan tin theo thể chế chính trị nào đó, hoặc bị mua chuộc để đưa tin theo đảng phái hoặc thế lực ngoại bang. Vì được mua chuộc mà gần đây có những chủ nhiệm, chủ bút và phóng viên thiên tả bán rẻ lương tâm bằng cách đưa tin thiên lệch, khiếm diện, một chiều, lại còn bịa đặt tin tức, hoặc ém nhẹm tin bất lợi cho đảng phái, phe nhóm.
Gần đây, khi đọc tin tức về những vấn đề xã hội và chính trị, đại đa số giới bình luận gia người Mĩ gốc Việt gán cho báo chí / truyền thông thiên tả phóng túng là báo chí/truyền thông “thổ tả”. Thiên được đọc trại ra là thổ. Nghĩa đen của thổ tả là ói ra (đọc báo chí / truyền thông thổ tả là muốn ói ra). Nghĩa bóng của thổ tả là giả dối, bịa đặt với ý định lừa bịp dư luận quần chúng. Vấn đề loan tin thiếu trung thực và còn bịa đặt như vậy của báo chí / truyền thông thiên tả về chiến tranh Việt Nam cũng đã khởi sự từ đó.
